For decades, Kalitta Flying Service – the original Kalitta company – was an approved air carrier of the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ). When the Kalitta Group diversified, Kalitta Charters, Kalitta Charters II and Kalitta Air all maintained their approved status with the DoJ.
The Kalitta Companies currently utilize all of our aircraft types for the DoJ; Learjets, Falcons, DC-9s, B727s and B747s. Configurations include passenger, all cargo, air ambulance and aircraft that are specially retrofitted for unique mission requirements. Additionally, Kalitta maintains dedicated backup aircraft as required to ensure mission integrity.
All of our aircraft are available for scheduled, ad-hoc and emergency airlift for the DoJ. Emergency airlift missions can be airborne in as little as 60 minutes from notification. Kalitta Charters II has provided support for the DoJ with its aircraft over the past 4 years and has maintained a dispatch reliability of 100% for these missions.
In addition, the Kalitta Companies are periodically audited by the DoJ to ensure compliance with strict operating and readiness guidelines. Within the U.S. Department of Justice, the Kalitta Companies operate aircraft for virtually all branches of the U.S. Department of Justice.
While the bulk of our work for the DoJ must remain confidential, qualified agencies are welcomed to contact us to see how we can help meet the needs of your specific requirements. We can provide information about our capabilities and experience to appropriate representatives for the DoJ.
